audio out of sync

I switched from Cubase to Logic Pro x 10.5 recently. Now when I record audio through my UAD Arrow the playback of the recorded audio is out of sync (that is: earlier than the previous recorded midi and the metronome). In other words: it runs ahead of the project. This happens both in hardware monitoring and in software monitoring. I never encountered this in Cubase and am 100% that I recorded the audio perfectly in sync with the metronome.

Any suggestions?

Also, I'm on catalina (10.15.6) with my mb pro 2017.

Go to Logic's Preferences/Audio and make sure the Recording Delay adjustment is in the center <zero> position. Also, if you're using Latency inducing plugins enable "Low Latency Mode" on record mode only. Cubase has a similar function called "Constrain Delay Compensation"

I noticed the recording delay was changed - not by me - to minus a lot. I undid this and set it to 0. Also I temporarily changed the sample rate to 48 khz then a restart of the mac , back to 44.1, and now everything works fine. Weird....

Computers are wierd indeed sometimes.

I had a problem with the out of sync thing, happened twice before.

The way I solved it was uncheck CORE AUDIO, in Logic preferences, audio, then apply changes, then re check enable Core Audio and apply changes.

Sorted.

Thx, I will try your first suggestion.I assume the low latency mode is not active when I use hardware recording (UAD Arrow) not through software?

Try temporarily switching to 48k than back to 44.1 It seemed to work for my similar problem. I believe it is the new catalina operation system being screwed.
