the sound on my brand new MacBook Air 2020 randomly stopped working. I have already tried doing what the apple article recommended and it did not work. Im not sure what else to do. I have only had the computer for 8 days.

Try launching the "Terminal" app and typing "sudo killall coreaudiod". Doing this will cause your coreaudiod process to restart. If the issue persists, restart your Mac.

in system preference, click the sound off, then on again.
