USB SuperDrive won't work on my new MacBook Pro (16-Inch 2019)

I bought a pre-owned MacBook Pro from last year's model along with a USB SuperDrive to play my DVD collection. Little did I know that the USB SuperDrive is not adaptable with this new MacBook Pro. When I do plug it into my Mac, it says "USB Accessory Needs Power. Connect 'Apple USB SuperDrive' to a USB port on this Mac."

Is there a possibly of a driver update for Catalina that will allow the USB SuperDrive to play on the last years MacBook Pro models and maybe for the newer models with the new Apple Chips with Big Sur as well?
