I have installed microsoft 365 onto my new macbook air, but the icons are gray and the powerpoints, excel, won't open

I don't know how to open/activate excel and powerpoint that I have just downloaded via microsoft 365 onto my new macbook air

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.15
