Is it normal for a battery health to dropped at 98% in less than two months of use. Bought it brandnew last June 1. Last two weeks it was 99 but then I checked yesterday and it was 98

There’s a surfeit of stuff around to worry about. This, not so much. Not until you get much closer to 80% and/or your cycle count gets closer to 500. Enable the optimized charging feature and particularly if you’re on a regular schedule, don’t try to keep the battery completely charged at all times, see the previous links for other details.

2%? Not something I’d be concerned about. Different batteries respond somewhat differently, and different folks have different usage and charging habits, and different physical environments.

Per Apple: A normal battery is designed to retain up to 80% of its original capacity at 500 complete charge cycles when operating under normal conditions.

The battery can be swapped in some number of years, if that should become necessary.
