ipad exchanging question

I recently received a new unopen regular ipad (7th gen) as a gift. Can I exchange this for an ipad pro and pay the difference?

If the iPad was purchased 14 days or less ago, it can be returned for full refund and the refund can then be used to purchase whatever you want. This is of course, if it was purchased directly from Apple. If it was purchased from another retailer, you'd have to check with that company to see what their return policy is. Since it was a gift, you should ask whoever gave it to you to give you the receipt.
