Address box turned from whit to black on my mac book air. How do i change it back to white?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.12

You opened a Private Browsing window. Use File menu > New Window and it’s white (Or gray in dark mode), use New Private Window and it’s black.

Thanks that worked but now I keep getting a get-user-id-dms in my download box everytime i open msnbc.com or go to a link on its page. Only happens on safari. How do I get rid of that?

That’s a previously reported issue with their site, not sure there’s anything to be done except perhaps sending them feedback.
