iMovie adding Echo to my Mp4 Quicktime Files

Hey all, I constantly use iMovie and have edited hundreds of videos in the past couple years that are Mp4 files, but yesterday I imported a video and iMovie was causing the audio to have a weird echo effect that I couldn't get rid of. When I play the mp4 in Quicktime it sounds great, but the issue occurs when I import the video to iMovie. These clips are from a recording on Obs, but I did not mess with any audio settings in that program. Also, I downloaded another editing software (Filmora) and when I imported my clip in that program there was NO echo effect which further makes me think it is an iMovie issue. I even put the clip into handbrake to see if there was a double audio track but there was just the single audio track as there should be. Any guidance, as I'm quite stumped as to why this would have changed randomly! Thanks!
