Frozen imac

I have a late 2009 imac

It was still running great until last week and it is now freezing I doesnt even start anymore

See photo below of fuzzy screen.


Would appreciate if someone had the same issue and know how to fix it

If it still had the original HD in it, my guess is it has failed. After 12 years it's had a good run and the computer should be replaced. However before throwing in the towel, try resetting the NVRAM and restarting in Safe Mode.
