My iMac appears to be frozen and a hard start does not effect that. Is there a key stroke that may work?

You can try holding down the power button on the back of the computer for about 15 seconds. If it will not boot up, please try all the steps in If your Mac doesn't start up all the way and if those fail, it is time to make an appointment at your local Apple Authorized Service Provider to have it professionally diagnosed.
