Few Seconds Delay before Double Tap works, Apple Pencil 2

each time I use my Apple Pencil, the double tap feature won't work, and I have to wait around 10-12 seconds before the double tap starts to work and then it functions normally

this happens each time the Apple Pencil is in active for sometime, or if I remove it from changing and starting writing.

now it is functioning normally, its just the double tap that will only start to work after 10-12 seconds on EACH use (after its been inactive)

is this by design? or is my Apple Pencil faulty ?

I`m running the latest iPadOS on my iPad Pro 12.9 2020 Model
