Flashing folder

There is a flashing folder on my screen. I tried troubleshooting by resetting the nvram, the smc, erasing the disk and installing the new os. The problem temporarily solved for the day. But the problem persists when I open my macbook air the following morning. What seems to be the problem? What should I do?
