Can I make different TimeMachine backups onto the same physical drive?

So I have an old MBA and a new MBP. I tried backing up my new MBP to my physical Toshiba drive that I normally use but I got stuck in the process:

This is what I see in my Finder when I plug in my Toshiba drive, as you can see its called 2015BackupDrive:

Then when I open up TimeMachine I get this:

ExtMBA is the name of another Toshiba drive I have.

So when I select 2015BackupDrive, which is the one connected to my MBP according to Finder, I get this:

So what should I do?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15

Ok, my doubt comes from the fact that Im not clear on what will TM do. So Ive selected both and it now shows this. So does this mean the new MBP backup that will be placed onto this 2015BackupDrive - hard drive, will it erase whatever was on it (which is presumable my old MBA backup)?

Also, how does it know what it will back up from my MBP to the 2015BackupDrive drive?

Can I make different TimeMachine backups onto the same physical drive?
