Contacts - Editing is frustrating

When I edit contacts, the card periodically closes unexpectedly and I lose the information I've entered. This seems to happen whenever I click to a new field, switch to a different application, or move the Contacts window.

In many cases, I just get the name entered when this happens... so I carefully enter the name and immediately save/close the card so I don't have to start over every time.

It almost seems like the interface is glitchy.

I sync contacts my Gmail account and to the Office 365 system at work.

Hello ctobola,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!

It is our understanding from your post that when creating a new contact or editing a contact on your Mac that the card will close unexpectedly. I recommend testing the issue while your Mac is in safe mode. The following article has the steps you will need to test the issue in safe mode:

How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support

"Safe mode prevents your Mac from loading certain software as it starts up, including login items, system extensions not required by macOS, and fonts not installed by macOS. It also does a basic check of your startup disk, similar to using First Aid in Disk Utility. And it deletes some system caches, including font caches and the kernel cache, which are automatically created again as needed."

Best Regards.
