iPod 5th Generation "Connect to iTunes" Problem

I have iPod touch 5th Generation that been in storage for a while. After taking it out and trying to make it my main Music Player in the house, I can not seem to get it to turn on.

What I mean is that, it turns on, seeing the Apple Logo, then it says "Connect to iTunes". I have the latest iTunes installed and it reads that iPod is connected but says to "unlock iPod to connect", but the iPod says to "connect to iTunes" thus being stuck.

Any one can help with this?
