Hard Drive Issues

Hi,

I have backed up all my files from my MacBook onto an external hard drive, however when I plug into my desktop pc (Windows), the hard drive does not show up in the devices and drives section.

Is there way to resolve this?

Probably because your PC can't read a Mac formatted drive.

Cannot add files to external hard drive Hello, So I have a Lenovo 1TB harddrive. It's format is Windows NT File System (NTFS). I have no idea what all these mean, but I've been researching all over the place and can't seem to find an answer. So I used to have an old 2016 MacBook Pro in which it worked fine. MacBook & hard drive My MacBook can read my hard drive, but I can't transfer anything to it. My memory is full so I would like to put some things on my disk. How do I do this?

Can't access files on my external hard drive All my files are on an external hard drive. It shows up in Disk Utility and on the desktop, but when I go into an application it doesn't show the hard drive, so in order to open anything I have to more it to desktop...royal pain. Using MacBook Air 2020 iOS 12.2.1 500 GB storage Hard drive is Seagate Backup Plus 4 TB, formatted APFS and is encrypted. I do not want unencrypted hard drives lying around. I do no want my files on the Mac itself. How do I get my files on the hard drive to show up? it shouldn't be this hard!

Not without wiping out all of the data on the drive.
