Logic Pro x ~ Piano sound disappears after two minutes~ MIDI information is still being recieved by Logic

Logic 10.5 - iMac Pro running Catalina 10.15.4

M-Audio- Keystation Pro 88

Logic Pro X Just recently updated itself on my iMac Pro and there is something awry with the MIDI settings now.

The simplest example of my problem:

I will open a new track.

Create new Software instrument- Yamaha Grand Piano

Play piano for two minutes monitoring the Input and all is well.

Piano sound suddenly vanishes but I can see the MIDI input is still being received as I can see the chord input next to the main bar and beat counter.

I have:

Made sure Core Audio is enabled

Have changed the I/O buffer size (256, 128)

Hopefully a simple parameter adjustment but I am not sure where to start.

Any insight/ expertise would be appreciated.

SOLVED

On further investigation I found that my piano sound wasn't disappearing, the volume was being suddenly adjusted to 0.

Turns out the onboard Volume slider on my Keystation Pro (which is over 10 yrs old) is being reset to zero as I physically play the Keyboard.

The vibrations interrupt a sketchy connection in the Volume slider for an instant and volume gets reset to 0.

It could be wear and tear or dust that weakens the connection but it turns out if you set the volume slider on the control surface all the way high or all the way low position , the connection is stable and does not get interrupted.

The Keystation 88 has served me well but it may be time to upgrade.

Funny how I was chasing a software solution for so long and it turns out I was looking in the wrong place!
