I’ve recently started to notice the top half of the picture from a 2015 HD Apple TV (not the latest 4K version) flickers every once in a while. It’s connected to a 4K TV via a Marantz AV8801 and it seems to flicker whether we are watching an Apple TV show, a movie or a Netflix show. Anyone else seeing this kind of problem?

I moved the Apple TV to another HDMI input - I have 7 so lots to choose from :) No flickering or dropouts on the other input. So it looks like it might be a faulty HDMI input on the pre-amp. I guess I can live with one less input but I might contact the Marantz service dealer anyway to see what I can find out. Thanks for all the suggestions here.

Please check the hdmi cable , try another cable to see if that may be it.
Going direct to the TV seems to eliminate the glitches and blackouts. That would seem to indicate it’s a problem with the Marantz unit. I guess it’s possible that using different HDMI cables might improve the situation. The ones I’m using are very high quality so I’m not confident it will fix the problem.
I have Chord HDMI cables so I’m pretty sure they are not the issue. Yeah, looks like the HDMI circuits on the pre-amp. I might move The Apple TV to another input to see if it’s just one input or all of them behaving the same way.
Yes, it sounds like the Marantz but to be sure test with another high quality HDMI cable.
Will give it a go. The problem is intermittent so it's hard to know if the cable swap is effective. I guess I will swap one cable and leave it for a few days. If I see one flicker, I'll swap the cables back and swap out another.
I'll see if going direct to the TV improve the situation. It removes a cable and the AV unit from the mix. Thanks.
