FCPX scene detection on tape capture misses frames

I have finished productions on tape that I need to capture into FCPX, and the stupid auto-scene detection breaks up edits and dissolves all over the place into little clips I don't need AND it misses 1-3 frames every time! I can't find any solutions to this. Quicktime crashed when I asked it to capture from my DV deck. Is there no way to capture without scene detection on? The timecode is perfect, it's not resetting.

I’ve used tape cleaners, which is all I can do, but don’t think that’s it. Every edit point resulting in a new captured clip is consistently missing 1-3 frames. Same issue using iMovie (capture process looks identical to fcp). This is a software issue. Looking for capture alternative now. Quicktime captured it continuously bit it transcodes to h264 which I don’t want. Gonna try Premier next. Any other ideas appreciated.
