Xcode on MacBook Air 2020

Hi guys, I'm thinking of getting into app development as a hobby and I understand that you need a MacOS device to do any sort of Xcode programming ( I know you can do it on a virtual PC method but I'm not really interested in that).

I'm wondering if the new MBA 2020 model with the Core i5 processor and 16gb of ram would be good to use with Xcode? I'm ready to also jump to the 16" MB Pro but that's nearly 2x the price and would like to avoid that if the MBA 2020 can do the job.

I tried looking this on the internet and had very little luck so hoping someone here can shed some light!

Thank you.

The MacBook Air will be fine for this task. Xcode is a big, unwieldy application on any Mac, but fast storage and that 16GB RAM will do the job. Consider an external display as a practical additional expense for its screen real estate.
