Changing your debit card on Apple Pay...

I have been issued a new debit card from my bank. Apple Pay will NOT allow me to change it in regards to depositing my Apple Pay balance to my bank via debit card- it keeps asking me if I want to use my old one, and if I try to add the new card, it tells me it is already in my wallet.... round and around I go with this- what can I do???

You can try to remove the existing card by following the steps below:

To remove a card that you use on your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > Wallet & Apple Pay, tap the card that you want to remove, then scroll down and tap Remove This Card.

Or open Wallet, tap a card, tap, then scroll down and tap Remove This Card.

Then, you can try to add your new card. If this doesn't work you can find the full Apple Pay card management support documents below:

Oh I see. The only thing I can think of is that your new debit card may not support Apple Pay instant transfer. This article goes into detail about what Visa Debit cards can be used with the feature. If you don't mind waiting 1-3 days you can add your bank account information manually and select that option to transfer your balance. I hope this helps. If not, you can reach Apple Pay support by scrolling to the bottom of the article linked above.

Yes- thank you, I have already “removed” the old debit card. However, it still pops up when trying to transfer money from Apple Pay to my bank. It shows both debit cards (old and new) and asks me which one I want to use. of course I choose the new one. (The old one should already be deleted...)

But THEN, when it comes to actually transferring the money to my bank, it still wants me to add a debit card! (Thus is where you can choose to transfer directly to the bank for free, which takes 1-3 days, or instantly transfer via your debit card, for a small fee.) I try to add my new card again, but it says I already have that card in my wallet!!!

so basically, I have deleted the old card, and added the new one. I even have deleted the new card to add it when it prompts me to transfer — that didn’t work, either... it will not allow me to make an instant transfer, it just keeps asking me to add a debit card... that’s when we get back to the top of this, and it asks me which debit card I want to use- the old one or new one. When I choose the new one, it goes Back to the beginning, where I need to choose instant transfer or 1-3 days....🤦🏻‍♀️
