Update not available with this Apple ID

This is the message that I continue to get when I try to update my iMac software and iPhoto. The App Store explains that the update is not available for this Apple ID because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled. The last 2 do not apply to me because I am the sole owner of this close to 10 year old computer, but the first might. I had to change my Apple ID from a yahoo.com address to a gmail.com address. This is the only thing that I can think of that could be causing the issue. Got any ideas how to fix it because I am hitting a brick wall.

You have software that was obtained from the App Store under your old Apple ID. The only way you can update that software is logging into the App Store using your old Apple ID. There is no fixing this except by contacting Apple Support.
