I currently am unable to hear any conversations during incoming and outgoing calls, unless the iPhone is on speaker mode

I am having issues with my iPhone. I currently am unable to hear any conversations during incoming and outgoing calls, unless the phone is on speaker mode. It is almost impossible to hear the other person . How can you help me resolve this issue?
