Watch stopped after I went swimming won’t charge just nothing. It’s a A1978

Why would my watch stop and not charge after swimming.

If your profile tag shows correctly and you have the Apple Watch Series 1, this series watch was never meant for swimming. Only splash resistant like washing hands. Take a look here. https://support.apple.com/en-ca/HT205000. Series 2 and higher were swim capable with certain conditions. I would wait a few days to let it dry out fully. DO NOT put it on the charger. Cross your fingers and hope it still turns on thereafter. Sadly you may be in the market for a new watch.
