i have an applewatch series 2 that won’t update since purchasing a new iphone 11 pro

i have an applewatch series 2 that won’t update since purchasing a new iPhone 11 Pro. I have tried everything. I have unpaired and repaired the watch. Deleted the app and reloaded the app. Changed Wi-Fi connections. Soft and hard reset both the phone and the watch. Nothing seems to help. Please help!

Thank you Fieryjack for taking the time to respond with some helpful ideas. Before you gave your last idea, after weeks of searching I also found on the Internet something that worked.

First I insured that my Apple Watch was also directly linked to the house Wi-Fi. Then I went into my settings on my actual watch and found out I could download The update directly to my watch without having to use my phone app to do it. It actually worked! After trying many different things, it actually did update my watch By doing these two things thankfully! I did not know however about the Idea you gave above regarding having to unlink my watch from my iCloud account when I get a new iPhone.

I have saved this email discussion for future reference if I do have any further problems as again, I didn’t know this existed. Thanks again for taking the time, I truly do appreciate it! 🙌🙌😉
