I am trying to reinstall MacOs after I accidentall wiped it off of my 2011 iMac

Getting ready to upgrade my 2011 iMac 27" (I cant upgrade to Catalina and I need it) so I decided to restore to factory settings and sell it, and purchase a nice, new MacBook.

Didn't realize it would turn into such a project! Not easy to restore... and I must have clicked on something wrong because I now have a gray screen with a question mark and no OS at all!

Oy!

I do have an older (early 2011) MacBook Pro with a OS High Sierra. Is there an easy way to get the OS onto my iMac or what should I do? I have no restore disks.

Help please...or even suggestions? Thanks

iMac 27", macOS 10.13

Boot into the Recovery Partition by holding down Command + R on bootup and then re-install Mac OS from there.
