I have just got my new MacBook Air, and when I go onto App Store I am unable to download apps such as YouTube, Spotify and zoom. Is this normal, and I would like to know how I can access these apps, thanks.

Correct, as those apps are not available at the App Store. For each app, If available, you can download it from the developer’s web site (only the developer’s site, never an outside source).
