lightning to 3.5 mm headphone jack adapter

I have an ipad 5th generation

I bought a lightning to 3.5 mm headphone jack adapter

But it does not give any sound on either of my headphone sets

what could be the problem?

Your headphones may not be wired correctly for iPad. There are different wiring standards for TRRS connections.


To test your headphone jack adaptor, you would be best advised to verify its operation using genuine Apple Earbuds.


If all is well with the earbuds, you will have confirmed that the wiring of your headphones has a compatibility issue.
