macOS Catalina

When I try to update to mac OS Catalina on my iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2013) I keep getting the "Unknown Error" message. I know that's a vague description, but Any suggestions?

OSStatus error -36 what is this error? I’m trying to update a MacBook pro mid 2012 13-inch to Catalina but this stops me from doing it.

By chance is there any antivirus, cleaning or any other types of third party maintenance apps installed on the computer?

Also, have you tried booting into Safe Mode per the directions in Safe Mode Reset instructions
