MacBook Pro 16" shuts off in sleep mode.

Thanks for taking the time to post here in Apple Support Communities. If I understand correctly, you’re unable to put your Mac in sleep mode without it shutting down unexpectedly. Is that the case? If so, I’m happy to help. 

Have you tried testing the issue in and out of safe mode? Safe mode will clear your system cache and attempt to repair any directory related issues. Take a look at the article below.

I would also recommend resetting your System Management Controller. The SMC is responsible for power related functions and the sleep status on your the Mac.

This is a known issue— the current work around is disable power nap from

>System Preferences>Energy Saver

if no resolve also disable Automatic graphics switching.

I suspect a supplemental update to follow in due time or wait for the 10.15.5 update to resolve this software problem.

I am having the exact same issue. I have multiple peripherals plug in and I've tried just unplugging everything at the end of the day. I haven't been seeing the computer restarted due to a problem message as often as I was. I'm going to try turning off power nap and see if that works.
