Select the message, then
- Edit > Delete, or
- click Mail's Trash icon, or
- press the Delete key, or
- drag it to the Finder's Trash icon
... there are probably other ways.
To select multiple messages,
- press the ⌘ key while selecting them, or
- Edit > Select All, or
- ⌘ A, or
- ⇧ to create a continuous selection
... after which you can delete that selection.
Make a mistake?
- Edit > Undo Delete Message, or
- ⌘ Z, or
- drag it out of the Trash, or
- ... probably other ways I can't remember.
