Mail.app not sending mails for Icloud account (for a while now)

Hi

My MacOS mail app is since 2 years or so not sending any mails for my apple Icloud account. Other accounts (MS Exchange, Google, Hotmail) work as they should. I find this quite ironic!

What I have already tried: reinstall the whole account, change the server settings to the settings recommended on Apple support for 'mail server settings'.

On my iPhone there is no problem at all for any of the accounts I have.

My mac is updated to 10.15.4 Catalina.

Would be nice if you could help me solve this problem!

Best regards,

Yannic

Open mail app , click on window on the top menu bar > window > connection doctor double click on SMTP for iCloud it will be shown red see this https://support.apple.com/en-in/HT204173 ( the screen shot is just to illustrate ) , have you entered any settings uncheck all of them , if you are using gmail address and its password signed in as Apple ID in system preferences you don't need to fill up any credentials in the account it will get automatically set see the article https://support.apple.com/en-in/HT204208

You can look up mail settings that are presently used in mail account : https://support.apple.com/en-in/mail-settings-lookup

Note : if the problem persists , you can delete the imap account and once again configure the settings will be set by default see this : https://support.apple.com/en-in/guide/mail/mail35803/mac

See https://support.apple.com/en-in/guide/mail/cpmlprefgen/mac

Automatically try sending later if outgoing server is unavailable

When the SMTP server is unavailable, Mail stores your messages in the Outbox and tries sending them again later.

To have Mail show other servers that are available to send messages, deselect the tickbox.

If you deleted the both gmail account and iCloud account , the settings will automatically appear as default ,

If you are sending large attachments : https://support.apple.com/en-ca/guide/icloud/mm6b1a7a10/icloud

make sure you never use anti virus / third party softwares / no proxies or vpn services to be used .

Have you ever created a new test user account https://support.apple.com/en-in/HT204443 and then configured mail accounts , try these if any issues continues then its time to reinstall Mac OS https://support.apple.com/en-in/HT204904

It's updated last week to 10.15.4 Catalina.

Never used a test user account.

Network settings are correct, no problems there. No air port, just modem and router which work fine.

I can say that it does not allow me to create a new SMTP server in the list it does not add anything when I try to do this. So accounts > server settings > outoing server list > change > + > input as it should be > OK > nothing happens and outgoing mail server list now just says <none>. Tried to restart etc, doesnt work.
