My Apple Mail on my iMac keeps deleting (?) emails after about 2 months old. On my iPhone they are all still visible for years back (even tho the iPhone and iMac are in theory synchronising), but everything seems to be deleted on the iMac ...this is true for gmail accounts (they are still there if I look on the web browser), exchange accounts etc...

Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode?

Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.

Peter, are you using any rules on the Mac?

Mail>Preferences>Accounts>gMail>Mailbox Behaviors, what path is Trash Mailbox set to? And the Other Boxes?

Is it IMAP or POP account on the Mac?
