Not sure what is wrong or how to fix it...but when I have all windows closed, I am unable to click on the Apple symbol or Finder or any of the options on the left. The ones on the right I am able too. Is there a fix for this?

Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode?

Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.
