If they are text messages (green bubble) and not iMessages forward them to 7726 (SPAM). If they are iMessages there isn’t much you can do about them other than delete them.
I understand that it is an iPhone. However, the carriers provide that support. Evidently your carrier has a problem if they are referring you back to Apple. And, for your information, this is not Apple, this is a user to user support forum and Apple does not participate here. The carrier is the one that can block spam text messages, most have a dedicated reporting method to do so.
Are you saying these messages are iMessages, with a blue bubble, or is it a regular SMS with the green bubble.

What do you mean not helpful. Most, if not all carriers have programs in place to deal with spam text messages. That is how you deal with them.
It's an iPhone. They will just transfer me to Apple, which is where I am now talking to you.
