as title says, just stuck on black screen, it gets stuck at 'waiting for
iphone' on iTunes restore. the phone sometimes displays the restore
thing with the laptop. on latest ios, any help or ideas on what it could
be hardware wise?

If not, only a diagnostic test will give you an answer to what the hardware problem might be.
yes i've tried all modes. any idea on what it could be?
