Is the Ipod Classic 5th Generation compatible with the latest versions of Itunes and Windows?

Ok thx. I'm considering buying a new one on EBay and even though returns are allowed (seller paid), I'm still concerned about some unforeseen problem occurring. Also, I use these devices for listening to music only. I had a ipod touch and I found it to be more wo ett k to quickly pause or forward to next song. Plus music doesn't download with a clean menu from iTunes to the touch. Any feedback?
