Stuck on iMovie 10.1.6 in High Sierra 10.13.6

I just upgraded from El Capitan to macOS High Sierra 10.13.6. Everything works great. 😊

However, I seem to be stuck on iMovie 10.1.6 with no way of updating it. When I click on the Update in button in the Mac App Store, nothing happens.

I know that the latest version of iMovie is 10.1.14 which REQUIRES Mojave or later to be installed. That's fine.

But surely I can install something inbetween the two? I know that iMovie 10.1.8 exists and can be installed on High Sierra, but I can't find it anywhere on the Mac App Store. How do I download it?

Drag your iMovie app from the Applications folder into the trash, but don't empty the trash. Then sign in to the app store and open your purchases folder by clicking on your name at the bottom of the app store side bar. When your folder opens you should see iMovie there as one of your purchases. See if you can update it from there. You should be able to update iMovie to the highest iMovie version that your Operating system will run. If the update is unsuccessful you can drag your old iMovie app out of the trash and put it back into the Applications folder.
