Received a call about my iCloud account from a strange number

Received a call from 800-579-xxxx about my iCloud account, since I’ve never heard for being contacted by phone I hung up. How do I verify if it’s legit?

Icloud security I just received an automated phone call from am “800” number saying suspicious activity was on my iCloud account and I should not log in and do any secure banking. How do I know if this was a “true” call or a scam?

It's always a scam. Apple does not make such blind calls Hang up on criminals.
