Mainstage randomly changing sounds in patches

A weird and annoying thing is happening lately. I play in the band in our church. I prepare my concerts at home using a Yamaha clavinova as midi controller via a USB cable. Then in church I play on an old Roland RD100 with a midi to USB converter (The roland has no USB). Strangely , it seems that when I come home again and try to open the same concert somehow the patches have changed. For example: in the channel strip, it still says 'Steinway grand piano' , but the sound is some 'ahhh' choir voice. It also happens to organ sounds. It seems to correlate with changing the midi input controller. I also noticed that in the patch attributes a 'program change' is enabled with a checkbox, but this has not been programmed by me. Somehow mainstaige decides to add a program change.

I have not been able to figure out the cause, it is however really annoying. I can not trust MainStage to be reliable for playing music 'live' in this way. It takes too long to reprogram all the sounds when I have to play in church and I'm holding the band up during rehearsal.

Anybody any idea on what is going on?

I have Mac OS 10.15.2 and Mainstage version 3.4.3 on a late 2013 13" macbook pro retina
