Catalina Upgrade Issues...

I have a MacBook Pro that fits within all of the eligibility requirements for Catalina, and I'm currently running the latest version Mojave, but for some reason I'm not able to upgrade to Catalina. System never discovers it and it fails through app store.

Catalina not available for download

running Mojave 10.14.6.—trying to download Catalina, it is not showing up as a system update

From the Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app copy and paste:

sudo softwareupdate --reset-ignored

(please note your psswd will not echo on screen—type it in anyway to proceed)

relaunch System Preferences>Software update

My MacBook pro is compatible and perfect all the time except it could not upgrade to Catalina. I have copied your instruction as listed above and it seemed that Catalina Upgrade has started downloading but stopped with a message "The request timed out. An error occurred while installing the selected updates." My MacBook pro also has issues on all the software and security updates just recently :(
