iTunes won't connect to my iPhone

Running High Sierra (10.13.6) on a MacBook Pro (17-inch, Early 2011) and an iPhoneX (iOS 13.3). When I connect my iPhone I get an error in iTunes saying I need to update, and when I click to update I get a message Cant install because of a network problem. There is no network problem I can find, tried with and without VPN running.

Any help, suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
