iMovie won't close

IMovie won't close, banner: 'Canceling background tasks...' was up all night...-Red 'close' button not available (next to the yellow & green buttons top L)

MacBook Pro 13", macOS 10.15

Sometimes iMovie can lock up. Try going to the finder menu and click on Apple Logo/Force Quit and then force quit iMovie.
