Converting.MOV to .MP4

I have some QuickTime videos I want to view (via USB) on my LG SmartTV. LG doesn’t support .MOV. Do I need to acquire another App? Can I import the .MOV file to iMovie and create an .MP4 output? Any suggestions?

This sounds too easy.

Modern MOV files conform to the MP4 specification (and Apple was involved in co-writing the specification), which is why it might work.

There are many MP4 ‘flavors’, some are supported by QuickTime, some are supported by your TV. It should work if your file checks for both these categories.
