Equations alignment

I have a problem when trying to align equations to the center. It seems Pages uses "=" symbol, if present, as the center of an equation, so in case the length of the expressions isn't the same on both side of "=" the used center isn't the real one. That results in something like this:



That is not very pleasant for the view...

Is there a way to avoid this?

If you want the equations all left aligned, enter them in the left margin. Set a tab stop where you want their left alignment to register, and then tab each equation over to that tab stop. For some reason, Pages was programmed to center align equation objects on their equal sign, (if present).
