I updated my running system to Catalina and now my Time Machine is full and won't delete the oldest back up like it used to do. I have a 1TB Hard drive it is saying it needs 126.38gb and I only have 49.66gb. i have manually deleted at least 6 back ups and it has not made any difference? Please Help

Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode?
Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.

Did you use Time Machine to delete them or the Finder,,,which is a no-no?
I opened the Time machine and deleted the files?
Some backup dates will contain very little, just changes from last time... if you delete another oldest one does the space increase at all?
I just deleted 6 old folders and no difference in size at all :-(
