External hard drives not showing up

With the latest Catalina update my external drives will not show up anywhere on my iMac or Mac Book Pro. They showed up just fine prior to the update. Yes the hard drives are functional. Any suggestions? Any idea on how to roll back from the latest update?

MacBook Pro 13”, macOS 10.15

Open Finder. Click on the menubar on Finder, Preferences, sidebar. Select external drives

If you are using the proprietary software which came with the drives, then you need to update this software to be compatible with Catalina.
