External hard drive not showing on desktop after installing Monterey

I can't find any of the 3 external hard drives connected to my desktop Mac after installing Monterey. What to do?

Did you check Finder Prefs to see if that option was reset during the update? By default, Apple likes hide other drives but the setting usually survives system upgrades. Easy enough to check.
Check any drive type you wish to see on the desktop.
