Activity Monitor is broken

Activity Monitor no longer shows center data columns under any of the tabs.

Installed OS 10.15.2 and reinstalled OS from Recovery. iMac late 2015.


Applications list appears at left and moves around, indicating changes in relative activity, but the center of the screen is blank.

I also deleted the file com.apple.ActvityMonitor.plist.lockfile. If the system wants that file too, it can create it, I figure.


That solved it, but adjusted column widths are not saved when the plist file is updated during the session, nor when I quit Activity Monitor, and the plist file is again updated. I tried reading the file with an editing app, but couldn't figure out where anything is.
