QuickTime Player

I have Catalina. QuickTime Player was working, now it crashes and won't open at all. It asks if I want ignore, report, or reopen. I have tried them all. How do I fix this? Thanks!

Quicktime won't open in Catalina I have QuickTime 10.5 running on a Mac Mini with Catalina. When I try to open it it immediately crashes, triggering a crash report. The crash report mentions EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV) and a million other things, none of which I understand. Everything else seems to be working normally. The Activity Monitor doesn't register any opening of QuickTime before it crashes.

Quicktime hangs when playing any video I have recently encountered a problem with Quicktime running under OSX 10.14.6. I hangs with any video file (MOV, MP4) including FCPX output and other sources. The only option is to force quit. Luckily I have always retained the superior Quicktime 7 app. Has anyone else encountered this problem and is there any fix. I am unable to upgrade to Catalina as I have critical apps which are not supported on 64bit.
